6 months

Our baby is six months. How did this happen? She is getting bigger and doing new things everyday! And I don't know what to do about it. Cry? Laugh? Take a much needed nap? Maybe I'll do all of the above. I also thought I would do a blog post of Penelope Kay's life as a 6 month old.

Penelope is now an avid crawler. She started dabbling at 5 months and soon after mastered the army crawl. She has yet to crawl on all fours, but she loves to get in the position and tease us. Penelope is so happy that she gets to explore our entire apartment (tiny apartment) of her own free will. Speaking of exploring, Penelope also loves being outside and observing every new thing and every new person. She LOVES people! She gives everyone the biggest smiles, they don''t even have to be looking at her, she gives them freely. She has this adorable high pitched squeal when she sees something she's excited about grabbing, or just whenever she's excited in general. Penelope loves to eat. I would say her favorite thing, so far, are carrots and her least favorite are green beans. Penelope still fights sleep, it's her least favorite thing to do. She enjoys cuddles with her mom in the wee hours of the night too much to sleep longer than 2 hour stretches. We have decided to put Penelope on a more structured schedule in hopes to change these terrible sleeping habits. We have also made the decision to start supplementing with formula and most likely phasing out breast feeding all together (far too many reasons to list here). We are certain Penelope will adjust well to life without the boob, as will mom. Penelope is still the boss of our house and probably will be for the rest of our lives. ;)

We'll leave you with lots of pictures of an adorable 6 month old.
