25 weeks

- Pregnant photo shoot at 22 weeks -

I decided baby boy also deserves his own post. I should mention he has yet to be named and we are at a loss. We have a good 15 names on our list that we can't seem to narrow down. I'm getting antsy about the whole thing while Nathan is, of course, as calm and collected as ever. Penelope was named pretty much the second we knew she was a girl, so this is a bit stressful. For now, we refer to him as baby boy, baby brother, and the little prince.

Baby boy has been much easier on his mamma then Penelope. It has been such a blessing since this time I have an active child to keep alive. I have been less sick, less grumpy, and an all around happier person this go around (I still had/have my moments). Baby boy is a MOVER and it is by far my favorite part of pregnancy. I got a lot bigger a lot sooner and am already feeling the woes of the 3rd trimester come along. Here's to not gaining double what I did last time! I beg!

We are so excited to meet this sweet boy in a few short months! We love him already and can't wait to see the joy his little majesty will bring.

Currently

Life in California is treating us well. We LOVE the life-style here and would gladly stay for the rest of our lives, if we could just pretend it didn't cost an arm and a leg to live here... We are in the process of making the move to a two bedroom apartment and all three of us cannot wait! 2 more weeks and everyone will sleep a little bit better. Nathan is enjoying his job working for an engineering geology firm, he has already worked on several different projects and is learning a lot. Another pro of this cali job is he comes home everyday with a gorgeous tan (only thing he requested I add). I am loving life at home with Penelope! We play and sleep and eat all day. I am currently stressing about everything that needs to get done before baby boy arrives in November and not being able to do much about it until we move. I am most excited about creating a nursery for this sister-brother pair and can't wait to start crafting. Penelope is as cute and perfect as ever! Everyday we get to see more of her personality and we cannot get enough.

Penelope's current self as a 10 month old
  • she loves to make us laugh
  • she's very ticklish and has the cutest giggles
  • if she's cranky she fights my kisses (but I still give them)
  • she's more of a cuddle bug which I think is attributed to teething
  • she has 4 whopping teeth which seemed to have appeared overnight
  • she just started to become a mommas girl (I love it)
  • stranger danger is at it's highest with adults, but she can't get enough of other babies
  • she is a walking machine, crawling is now a distant memory (bitter-sweet)
  • she's now eating chunks of food and loves feeding herself
  • she's really into grapes these days
  • she's into everything; dvd's, pots, clothes, anything hiding in a drawer or cupboard
  • she's recently started to enjoy the t.v. and will giggle her way through tangled and frozen all day if I let her
  • she's constantly babbling at home, but not when we leave the house and are around others
  • she still loves being outside
  • she is terrified of long grass (short grass is fine)
  • the ocean is a scary place, but she loves the pool
  • she loves to follow us around, if we are in the kitchen she will bring her toys with her and play near us
  • she plays hide and seek with us and mostly uses the bedroom door as her hiding spot
- pictures from the past couple months - Enjoy!
